Hats Off: Sweet caps and toppers for little boys

caps and toppers for little boys

Let’s face it. It isn’t as easy to find great accessories for little boys as it is for little girls. When I do come across something great either in a store or online, I make sure to make a note of it. As a mom to four boys, if something grabs my eye, I don’t hesitate to purchase it! I like to keep my sessions simple and having some classic accessories for my boys, like a great hat, is always useful. Here are a few of my latest finds that will keep your little guy looking dapper.

Brimmed Hat

This hat is the perfect addition to any session to add a little personality without it being too much. Is there anything cuter than a little boy with a fedora on? I love Zara’s understated simplicity and this hat is no exception. $15.90 (pictured above)

Straw Tweed Pork Pie Hat

This straw hat is perfect for your fall and winter sessions. Available in beige and brown (my favorite!), it is a perfect match for rich colors. It has a striped Grosgrain hatband and is a crushable hat. Easy to pack away and pull out for your session at just the right moment. $18

Red Plaid Trapper Hat

Red and black plaid is the pattern to have this fall and this hat is the perfect accessory for the cold winter days. The texture of the faux fur lining on the inside always makes a great portrait adding extra interest around the face. At this price, it is a must have for the colder season. $12.99

Herringbone Baseball Caps

With a faux-suede visor and a herringbone pattern, this classic baseball cap is sporty but much more fashionable. If you have a session that is more casual, this cap is the perfect fit. No distracting logos or trying to match exactly. This cap is great with a pair of jeans and button down top of any color. $12.94

Tweed Nubby Spanky Hat

This newsboy cap is another classic must-have. I love the texture and the depth it creates in your photo that you wouldn’t get from a solid color. It is available in three sizes from six months to four years old and will last for seasons to come because it will never go out of style. $8.95
