Speed up your workflow with a new editing tablet

editing tablets for photograhpers

I currently have a small graphics tablet that I have used over the years for graphic design but I have been looking for a larger one for my editing work. Tablets are a great addition to your editing workflow and perfect for work that requires precision. Just edit a few photos without your mouse and you will love everything you can do with it.

1. Astropad

The Astropad is a relatively newer app that turns your iPad into a graphics tablet. It makes it possible to connect your Mac and iPad together via Photoshop or any other Mac graphics program. It is designed to match the colors on your Mac exactly, and it can be used with a USB or wirelessly via Wi-Fi. I love how your Mac and iPad can come together with this app to make one workspace. A 7-day free trial is available, which is a great way to see if it will fit into your workflow. $50

2. Wacom Intuos Pro Pen and Touch Medium Tablet

Wacom Tablets are known for setting the standard in graphics tablets. The medium Pro tablet is perfect if you would like a larger working area. It is great for both those starting out and those who are more experienced editing with a tablet. The Pro tablet has 2,048 levels of pen pressure, eight customizable, application-specific keys, and a multi-function touch ring with 4 customizable functions. It is compatible with Windows PCs and Macs. The overall size is 15 x 9.9 inches and the active area is 8.8 x 5.5 inches. Larger and smaller Pro tablets are available as well. $349.99

3. Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch Medium Tablet

This Wacom tablet is a great option if you need something a little more budget friendly. It has about half the pressure sensitivity as the Pro tablet with 1,024 pressure levels. It is a little smaller overall than the Pro version but it has almost the same amount of working space. It measures 10.8 x 8.7 inches overall with a working space of 8.5 x 5.3 inches. It is a multi-touch tablet, so you can even use it without a stylus. Larger and smaller versions are available as well. $199.99

4. Huion H610PRO Painting Drawing Pen Graphics Tablet

This very affordable tablet is also medium sized but it has a larger working space than the ones I previously mentioned with 10 x 6.25 inches of working area. It has 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity and it has 5,080 lines per inch. It is compatible with Windows and Mac and connects to your computer via USB. The stylus is slim, light, rechargeable, and battery free. This is a fantastic option if you are on a tighter budget. $84.69
