Feeling grateful: Thank you gifts

client gift ideas for photographers

At the end of each year I get all mushy and reflective about the people who have supported my business and hired me throughout the year.

Some clients have become friends and supported me as time has passed and I need them to know that their loyalty is appreciated from the bottom of my heart.

Each year I try to search for some new ideas to provide a few thank you gifts to surprise clients. This annual ritual has proven to be incredibly powerful for my business. Here are a few of my favorites:

1. A holiday themed thank you card. Miller’s Luxe Pop-Out Cards are perfect for this because they stand out among the stack of cards they receive and can be hung up easily. An extra touch would be to include an incentive (for example, a free 8×10 with a new booked session, a waved session fee or a $50 credit) for the upcoming year! Make sure to add a handwritten message for extra punch! millerslab.com

2. If you’d like to spend a bit more and really personalize your gift, consider something that can be displayed throughout the year to keep you in your client’s mind. A 5×7-inch collage of three to four images from a session printed on a ProDPI matboard is a small investment but quite a statement. Include a tiny easel to ensure they find a spot to put your gift! Matboard available at prodpi.com and easel available at Consumer Crafts.

3. Do you have a client who has really knocked your socks off? Comes back year after year? Has told all of her amazing friends about you? Bragged whenever she could? Your heart might be begging you to do something extra special! Artifact Uprising‘s Premium Custom Photo Calendar can serve you double. Your client will see your images, plus a new one each month, and at the end of the year, she’ll want to book her session just to refill her wood frame! artifactuprising.com

4. Another idea I love is WHCC‘s small framed ornaments. Choose your printing surface, frame shape and color and WHCC will assemble your ornament complete with your choice of backing or hanger option. You can choose to hang it as an ornament, on a wall, with an easel back for display on a desk or shelf, or a magnet back for a fridge. Your recipient will be able to share images she loves on her tree and all year long! whcc.com
