As an avid 365 shooter for the past three years and a frequent traveler, I really love documenting my daily life and travels in both still images and video. Having a camera that is easy to travel with, can perform well in many different lighting situations, and has the capability to shoot quality video footage is a must. So, I was really excited about working with the FUJIFILM X-T100.
The FUJIFILM X-T100 not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. This camera has so many features I never expected to find in a smaller camera! Its APS-C sensor captures high quality, 24-megapixel images with such beautiful color. And, the capability to grow the camera system with its interchangeable lenses makes this both a great entry level camera, as well as a beautiful addition for any seasoned photographer.
The FUJIFILM X-T100 lets me blend in as I document life.
Because so much of my personal work involves documenting my life as it unfolds, I love having the ability to tuck my camera right into my purse. That way it’s ready for me to easily grab when I see an interesting scene or am drawn to beautiful light (which is what usually initially draws me in). I take my camera with me almost everywhere and carrying a bulky DSLR is just not practical for everyday life.
The FUJIFILM X-T100 is just perfect for traveling and is so lightweight and comfortable in my hands. Because it tucks so easily into my purse and with the smaller design, I feel safe carrying it around. Plus, I don’t feel self-conscious at all pulling it out in busy areas, which is a big plus for me when traveling. I love the ability to stand within a scene without drawing too much attention to myself and this camera is perfect for that.

This camera is designed for the way I shoot.
I really love the retro and sleek design of this camera. Fujifilm has long been recognized for their unique look and vibe, and I love that they have stuck to this classic design. The X-T100 feels comfortable in my hands and its menu and dials are so intuitive, which makes it easy to choose settings quickly.
For me, the electronic viewfinder on the X-T100 is so great. It allows you to view the scene just as you will capture it. The three-inch LCD touchscreen tilts not only up and down, but also rotates outward nearly 180 degrees, making it great for selfie shooting, a feature I never knew I was missing!
I also love the facial recognition feature on the X-T100. It is great for selfies, as well as capturing focus quickly with your subject in a scene. The menu is easy to access right from the touchscreen which makes navigating the settings so quick and easy to do in the moment. I love being able to grab my focus point right on the screen with my finger, which is also so handy when shooting video for nailing focus.
Right out of the box I was able to easily navigate and start using this camera.

Low light or backlight, this camera handles both with ease.
Because I shoot in such varied lighting situations, the ability to handle low light with minimal noise is important to me. I want to be able to grab my camera when I see beautiful light streaming into my dark room in the mornings, or take into areas where I don’t want to use a flash to capture a scene (although this camera does have a built in flash for the moments you do want to use it, which is a great bonus). The X-T100’s capability of shooting at ISO as high as 12800 is perfect for me. It handled low light so well, with minimal noise.
I also shoot with a lot of backlight and the X-T100 performed well in this area as well. I really put this camera to the test and its ability to handle every light situation I was shooting in was a huge selling point for me.

The X-T100 lets me shoot video, too!
With the addition to filmmaking to both my personal and client work, the ability to shoot video in various situations has become so important to me, especially when traveling, and the X-T100 performed well in this area also. The video options are easy to access and switch over to from still image shooting. This powerful little camera is capable of shooting 4K/15p and 1080/60p video.

The extra features of the X-T100 make it a joy to use.
Besides meeting my expectations, the FUJIFILM X-T100 surprised me with some great options that I just love. One of these is the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capability, which makes sending images to your phone super easy. I also love the option to use the classic film simulation modes which enable you to capture that classic FUJIFILM look.
I often have friends and family approach me looking for great entry-level cameras or gift ideas. Because the FUJIFILM X-T100 has such a great price point, I will definitely be recommending this camera to both new and seasoned photographers.
