I recently had the pleasure of trying out one of Capturing Couture’s hidden pocket scarf camera straps. Let me tell you — it was love at first sight. The strap is a soft jersey scarf that is sturdy and comfortable, and the print is so sweet and fresh. I ordered one of their gorgeous mix and match patterns (the Callie Chase), and honestly love the pattern and colors so much that I would happily wear a dress or shirt in the same style! The ends of the strap are finished in velvet with silver hardware, and it is was a breeze to attach it to my camera and adjust to the right length.
A camera strap that holds my lens caps? Yes, please!
Capturing Couture has a ton of really cute camera straps on their site, but I chose this one because of its zippered pocket hiding right there in the strap of the scarf. It’s the perfect size for a lens cap, and is roomy enough to hold keys or lip gloss as well. I’ve lost my fair share of lens caps over the years, and even though I’ve learned my lesson, I am forever shoving them in a coat pocket or tossing them in my purse (or on the ground) at a shoot. And, of course, I never see them again. I’ve also been known to stick the cap in the back pocket of my jeans. This is all fine and good until your friend accuses you of carrying a tin of chewing tobacco. (True story.)

I photograph just about everything — from babies to seniors. No matter what is in front of my lens, I am always moving a mile a minute. I’d like to say that I slow down and take my time, but for the most part that just isn’t how I shoot. I’m talking constantly, stomping across fields, crouching down, jumping around, fixing hair and arranging limbs.
I need a comfortable, secure way to wear my camera. This strap more than fits the bill. It’s stylish enough to be a talking point (Almost every senior I’ve worked with has said, “I like your strap thingy!”). And it’s strong enough to support my gear, and even soft enough to clean my lens in a pinch.
