5 reasons the Garden Collection Presets are my new go-to

I am kind of a preset junkie and have loved Click & Company’s past presets, so I was excited to try the new Garden Collection Presets.

And try them I did!

I sat in front of my computer for 3 straight hours playing and had to tear myself away to grab the kids from camp. I had some literal jaw-dropping moments (like my jaw really, actually dropped!) and let out many audible oooohs and ahhhhs as I watched my photographs transform into beautiful edits that matched my vision perfectly.

I am kind of a preset junkie and have loved Click & company's past presets, so I was excited to try the new Garden Collection Presets. And try them I did!

So obviously I LOVE them and want to share my top 5 reasons why:

1. The names

I am going to start with what sounds like a superfluous reason, but I seriously think this makes these presets even better… the NAMES of the presets. Yes, the names. They are all so beautiful and romantic and I kind of felt a little prettier and elegant just sitting there using them. Primrose, bluebell, aster, honeysuckle, sunshower… aren’t they just lovely? Sigh.

2. The how-to guide

This second reason just blew me away. The PDF that comes with the presets. Wow! Totally comprehensive and it really helped me to know my way around the collection quickly. And the user tips they include with each one were priceless! This PDF really ups the ante for preset collections!

3. The groupings make it easier

The fact that The Garden Collection comes with certain ‘groupings’ of presets just makes your workflow so much quicker. There are 4 groups: Versatility, Richness, Brightness, and Softness. Having them broken up like this is invaluable. I can glance at an image and instantly go to the group that the image is calling for. I loved this. I found myself using versatility and brightness the most and that makes sense for my shooting/editing style.

Also, the Kickstarter preset is GENIUS. It automatically adjusts exposure and white balance according to your histogram. I mean, really!? Genius.

4. The light overlays

Oh, those beautiful light overlays! If you are anything like me, you just can’t get enough light. I like my images bright and these overlays were able to deliver that for me. And in such a perfectly subtle way, too.

I adored how the PDF explained the overlays (they use actual direction for each separate light overlay preset, like ‘upper right hand corner’). I kind of felt like I was studying for an exam and every time I clicked one I was getting an A. And the fact that you can use these overlays as a shadow filler, too, is A-W-E-S-O-M-E, awesome, awesome totally. (Who remembers that cheer?)

5. The quality

The last reason is why these presets are my new go-to. They are simple, polished, classic yet modern, easy to use, versatile, beautiful, clean and polished. I love them. The end.
