We had a dining room by our front door that didn’t fit in with our style at all and didn’t get enough use since we mostly eat in our kitchen. It just made sense to move my office to a place in the house that gets lovely light and allows me to meet with clients easily. I wanted my brand, my work and my style to be reflected in the new space. It was an easy and natural look for the room since the colors of my office and brand are found in almost every room in our home.
My office is where I do everything from editing to day-to-day business to packaging to meeting with clients. I love it when clients stop by to pick up an order. The arm chair by the window is one of my favorite spots when I need to get a lot of writing done. It’s basked in bright morning sunshine, and my husband always jokes that I’m working remotely when he sees me curled up with my laptop in my chair.
One of my priorities was a place that’s dedicated for packaging client orders efficiently so the L-shaped desk works really well for me. All of my packaging materials are found in the built-in cabinet next to the desk. I’m still fiddling with the small storage containers that hold things like USB drives and cards, but, for now, everything works really well to allow me to be more efficient and organized.
