Casey Martinez is a New Jersey-based mother and portrait photographer. She has recently joined forces with wardrobe stylist Michael Fusco to launch Private Editorial, a family photography experience that may redefine the genre.
“We want to bring the same excitement to family photos as when you pick-up the latest issue of your favorite fashion magazine,” Casey says. “What sets us apart is our experience in the fashion world. It’s not just about posing and designer labels. It’s about creating a mood and capturing the stolen moments that really create a memory worth documenting.”
In this maternity session, the Private Editorial team found themselves traveling to Japan. Expecting mama Lindsey’s husband is currently playing baseball for the Sapporo Fighters and knew she needed to have photographs to document this unique time in their lives. Casey and Michael created a style board that set the tone for their client by giving her details for each outfit and setting. Not only did they choose beautiful clothing and locations, but they also carefully curated details that matched the client’s bright energy while simultaneously embracing the culture and history of Japan. The resulting images are nothing short of magical and are as worthy of being in the pages of Vogue as they are being displayed on the walls of a family home.
