Click Magazine (January/February 2018)

We launched Click the winter of 2012 with a vision we’ve worked to achieve almost every day since: to foster the self-empowerment and fulfillment of women in photography and, just as important, to encourage each woman to give herself permission to explore, evolve, and enjoy it at her own pace and for the purposes that she defines for herself.

As we mark our 5th anniversary and our parent, Click & Company, reaches its 10th year, we celebrate the milestones women photographers have achieved in recent years. Women have changed photography — as an art form and an industry. Women represent its increasingly exciting future, but we also recognize the continuing need to address certain inequities, from equal pay among professional photographers to equal representation and diversity throughout the industry at every level. And even as women continue to dominate the buying market, we recognize the importance of maintaining an active dialogue with partners that are listening, driving conversations among companies broadly, and leading by example. Together, we have an opportunity — and an obligation — to help create a future bursting with choices for every up-and-coming photographer.

Though Click was created for women artists, our pages, community and hearts are wide open to anyone who craves a deep, dynamic, affirming relationship with photography. We’ve been transformed and humbled over the past decade by the inspiration we’ve found in you, our readers. Your thoughtful exploration of this art — your search for truth, meaning, beauty and hope — has been the lifeblood of everything we do. We thank you for your support, and we promise to continue to work to honor your journey.
